Weekly Encouragement - June 9 - June 15, 2024

Hello friend,

I hope and pray you are well. It’s finally summer at our place but the weather is mixed with hot and rainy days. Today is a more rainy day. Next week my kids start their summer break which will last until mid-September. That’s a long time. We might take a trip to a European city. We haven’t decided on what city yet. Let’s see.

Here is my weekly encouragement.

Weekly Biblical Encouragement

As a new week begins, let’s think about Jesus’ invitation to deny our desires and preferences so we can faithfully follow Him. In Luke 9:23, He instructs us to deny ourselves daily by willingly carrying our cross. Following Christ requires placing Him above all else, even when our selfish desires try to lead us astray. When temptations come, His voice calls us to sacrificial obedience. This week, determine to pattern your life after the selfless example of our Savior. Choose dependence on Him over independence from Him by surrendering your ways to His. Stay closely connected to the crucified Christ, finding purpose not in earthly pursuits but in passionately pursuing the One who gave everything for you. May obediently following Him lead you and many others to fullness of life in Him.
