A Reflection on Valentine’s Day

This Valentine's Day, while we celebrate romantic love between partners, let's also remember the greatest love of all - God's unconditional love for us.

All of our earthly relationships - whether romantic, familial, or friendly - are but a reflection of God's infinite love. As humans, our capacity to love others is only a tiny fraction of God's perfect love. His love knows no bounds or conditions. He loves each one of us fully for who we are.

While the love between romantic partners is beautiful, it can fail or fade over time due to our human flaws and imperfections. But God's love never changes nor does it fail - it is eternal and always available to us no matter how far we may stray. His arms are always wide open, just waiting to embrace us with His mercy and grace.

This Valentine's Day, take time to not only appreciate your loved ones here on earth, but also reflect on our greatest Lover - our Heavenly Father who gave His only Son for us so that we may live.

As the Bible tells us, "God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8, ESV).

In John 15:13 (ESV) we can read, "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends."

There is no greater demonstration of love than what Jesus did for us when He laid down his life on the cross to save us from our sins.

On this Valentine's Day, reflect not only on human love, but on the greatest love of all - God's perfect, unconditional love that He showed us through sending His Son.
